Past: Dog Days on Stanton Street

Date

July 10 - August 30, 2025

Summer is heating up, and our mascot is feeling the heat of the concrete jungle. Our summer exhibit features an exciting mix of recent acquisitions and discoveries, including mid-century paintings by “A. Dill” (Delaware River - Bowman’s Hill Tower), several works by the African American preacher/painter Reverend Joel Hewlett (1921-1994), striking portraits by the Italian farmer Pietro Ghizzardi (1904-1986), powerful African American and Native American textiles, an Atomic-Age Adventist Polemic, works by Vincent Smith (1929-2003), Nat Werner (1908-1991), Sal Salandra (1946-), and exceptional examples of Black Folk Art with additional surprises.
